If you're searching for an authentic taste of Cuba right in the heart of Hialeah, look no further than Yoyito Cafe Restaurant. Nestled at 495 E 49th St, this charming Cuban eatery dishes up delectable meals that transport your taste buds straight to the vibrant streets of Havana. With a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a menu that celebrates traditional Cuban flavors, Yoyito Cafe is a beloved gem among locals and visitors alike.

The menu is a delightful journey through Cuban cuisine, featuring classic entrantes that are hard to resist. Start your meal with the Frituras De Malanga at just $4.00, a crispy delight that perfectly captures the essence of Cuban snacks. For something heartier, the Empanada De Carne and Empanada De Jamón Y Queso, both priced at $1.50, offer a satisfying bite packed with flavor. If you have a sweet tooth, the Empanada De Guayaba Y Queso, also $1.50, is a must-try—a heavenly combination of guava and cheese enveloped in flaky pastry.

Yoyito Cafe doesn't shy away from comfort food either. Their Arroz Con Pollo has received rave reviews, with customers like Andrea Almeida proclaiming it to be the best in town. This dish perfectly embodies the heart of Cuban home cooking. As fragrant and rich as it is colorful, it’s a comforting plate that invites nostalgia and family gatherings. Don’t forget to pair it with sides like the Tostones Rellenos De Picadillo ($6.50) or Maduros ($2.10), which complement the main courses beautifully.

But it’s not just the food that makes Yoyito Cafe special; it’s the ambience too. The lively, down-to-earth decor is reminiscent of a classic family-run Cuban restaurant, where laughter and conversation flow freely. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, making it a perfect spot for both intimate dinners and gatherings with friends. While some recent reviews hinted at a waning warmth in service, the cooking remains stellar, with many praising the quality and reasonable prices. As Rene Choy aptly noted, "It is just good Cuban food and very reasonable prices," making this place a beloved hole-in-the-wall for those in search of genuine flavor without the pretension.

Whether you're a local craving a taste of home or a traveler eager to explore Cuban cuisine, Yoyito Cafe Restaurant promises a satisfying meal that embodies the vibrant culture of the island. With its rich offerings, passionate cooking, and a hint of that signature Cuban charm, it invites you to come back—just like Andrea’s mother demands every Sunday. So gather your friends, family, or that special someone, and make your way to Yoyito Cafe for a culinary experience that truly stands out in the heart of Hialeah!

The best arroz con pollo! My 82 year old mother makes me come here on Sundays although I live far just so she could have it!

Yoyito Cafe is not even close to what it was 5 or 10 years ago. Smiles on the staff have faded away and a sense of concern and superiority is very visible. BREAKFAST SUNDAY: Basic breakfast (Two eggs, ham/sausage/bacon/chorizo, tostada, fries, café con leche) could not be prepared as per my request since they did not have bacon. On the other hand, the food was well prepared. Ambience was nice, Christian/Gospel music was on the speakers. Lights were dimmed which made is nice. I still will have to come back for lunch or dinner and will update the review.

I know this is not a Five Star place but I love this place so much I have to give it to them. It is just good Cuban food and very reasonable prices. Best hole on the wall restaurant in the area.
